Acrylics and Oils

Acrylic was my first medium to work with. It was a good one to start with. Acrylic dries fast and can be painted over. It’s forgiving! Which I needed since I had no idea what I was doing when I first started painting. I played around with abstract mostly. Again, forgiving! I plan to go back to it and add more texture and use more materials within the paintings. I love that style. Stay tune…

Oils!! So different then acrylic. Oil takes longer time to dry and set up. Patience is a must. I tend to be an instant gratification kinda a girl so waiting on oil to dry enough to add the next layer is a challenge for me. I must admit though that I love the feeling of oil. It has a lush velvety feeling. A fabulous texture. I’m not saying I will never play with oil, I have. I need to find the right subject and time for me to explore this medium. Stay tune…
