It’s not done yet…Second part of CHS 2!

So, as our large girl friend group was ending a small one was starting. Actually they overlapped a day. Which was wonderful because they got to meet each other. We all got to paint and have dinner together.

Well, we had to say goodbye to the Maryland girls and started into the next few days. Don’t you love when you get together with someone, even years and years later, and it feels like to time has past. You pick up right where you left off. ME TOO! That is what it was like when my friend arrived. We still had a lot to catch up on but it was so comfortable and fun being together.

After a night of catching up we woke up to a rainy day. Not much fun to walk around in but we made a decision to go to the art store, pick up lunch and return to the boat to paint and eat. Charleston has a wonderful little art store that offers so much. This town has many fabulous galleries with incredible displays of art. So, I was not surprised to find a nice art store in town. Artist & Craftsman Supply is in the middle of downtown. It’s in the perfect location near Marion Square. It’s actually across the street from the park in a small alley. The staff if pretty knowledgeable and helpful. You can grab your supplies hit Starbucks across the way and head to the park and paint. We decided to grab our supplies and head over to The Bennett hotel to grab lunch. This hotel is a bit bouji….but not in a bad way?!? It offers a Champagne Bar Camellias decorated and inspired by the Faberge jewelry box. But, that is not where went for lunch. The Bennett has La Patisserie which offers delicious anything; quiche, croissant, sandwiches on baguettes, coffee, teas, desserts, and even wine. Très français! We grabbed our lunch and headed back. We spend the rest of the day painting and catching up. C'était merveilleux!!

Well, after sitting around all afternoon we decided to go to dinner and celebrate our time together…it was our last night. A short but sweet visit. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Muse Restaurant & Wine Bar. Never disappoints! Donnie was warm and welcoming as always. He even sat with us to catch up. We had a simple dinner with just entrees and wine. My Tagliatelle Bolognese with veal, pork and beef ragu was perfect as usual. I recommend reservations and don’t forget to taste of the Lemoncello. Buon appetito!

Our next day we said goodbye. Lots of hellos and goodbyes that week. But lots of fun!!! I am so happy and grateful to have had this time together. I will miss you my friend(s)!
